Not all backlinks are treated the same in the eyes of Google. Despite your continuous efforts to build links to your website; you may be spending a large portion of your time creating links that don’t necessarily provide a lot of value. Do-follow links, on the other hand, do pass SEO and Page Rank which makes them more valuable for your link building campaign. You can easily find do-follow links by using do-follow search engines, browser plugins and software tools.
“PageRank Matters” – PageRank is a ranking assigned to websites based on an unknown factor created by engineers at Google. Although the process doesn’t matter; what does is the overall ranking which is between 0 and 10.
Websites with higher PageRank carry higher value to search engines (and users) because of the great value they provide to the world; a backlink from them are indefinitely more powerful than thousands that are lower quality.
“Using correct Keywords” – The keywords you use for your backlinks greatly impact your overall search engine rankings. Using your name or irrelevant titles as your link do not necessarily tell search engines what the website relates to as it passes through your link. Instead of using your name, use your main keyword for many links you’re building such as during blog commenting, guest posting or in author bylines on article directories.
“Diversity in Backlinks plays a Role” – Not only should you be building backlinks with your main keyword but you should also create a variety of links by using related key terms. A massive amount of links built to your site only using a single keyword will set up red flags in search engines which could put you under review and within the “sandbox”. Change up the keywords you’re using for your link building campaign to create a greater variety of keywords for your backlinks.
“Natural Backlinks are Best” – Backlinks which are built through software automation or on websites which are of low value do not hold the same weight as those which are naturally built from other website owners linking back to your site. Natural links (which come from relevant websites) ensure search engines that your content provides value and warrant higher rankings for your terms.
